Amine-Modified Biochar for the Efficient Adsorption of Carbon Dioxide in Flue Gas

Biochar-based carbonaceous adsorbents are gaining interest due to their high availability, ease of modification, and low cost; however, they show limited adsorption CO2 in flue gas common textural properties. In this study, TEPA-modified biochar was used prepare a solid amine adsorbent for the efficient capture gas. First, porous prepared with FeCl3, Mg(NO3)2, H2O (g) as activators walnut shells carbon sources. Next, modified TEPA obtain adsorbent. Porous texture properties sample surface functional groups were characterized, we measured amine-modified breakthrough device. Results showed that has large specific area (744.38 m2 g−1), total pore volume 1.41 cm3 g−1, mesoporous ratio (82.7%). The provided more support space loading tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA). had an excellent capacity, corresponding 2.82 mmol which increased 3.31 g−1 kept water resistance at 10% simulated (SFG). FTIR analysis inhibited urea production after cyclic adsorption. Therefore, created by potential advantages its application capturing SFG.
